As a martial artist, I have put a lot of wear and tear on my body over the last 40 years of training. I wanted to add something to my training that would benefit me both in and out of the martial arts.

I have always been tight and have worked hard on my flexibility over the years so I thought anything that could help in that area would be a benefit.

I tried yoga classes in the past, but they never really worked for what I was needing.

I really wanted something that I could add to my workouts that would give me benefits that would cross over to the martial arts.

The reason I didn't stick with other yoga programs was the fact that they were very half hazard and disorganized for the way I learn. As a teacher I like to know that I am doing the right thing at the right time for the right reasons. The classes I tried fell short.

With Perry Yoga I got the knowledge of each individual yoga movement, the why and the how in a relaxed and orderly method. I was able to add it to my workouts very easily and I saw results pretty fast. I have been doing it now for over a year and love it!

I am definitely not new to the physical activity and have spent some of my life chasing adrenaline fueled things like snowboarding and trail running/climbing. UBY30 is an excellent way to get you into a place where you can push those boundaries but that's not actually WHY I'm doing this.

I have been going over and over this course and putting together my daily practice's.

I don't know about you but, I am a kinetic learner and I tend to go dark when I'm learning something new or in the shop building.. I really wanted to approach the UBY30 practice with a open mind to help me achieve some clarity or a better perspective of my current state of suffering from a Undiagnosed disease that the University of Washington is currently doing a research study on.

So, that's my WHY.

My goal was to develop a practical solution to dealing with chronic pain through my daily practice of stretching, lifting weights, heavy cardio and last but definitely not least my UBY30 practice.

I definitely see and feel the benefits of yoga.

It isn't just the isolation of muscle groups or the breathing it is a deeper sense of focused energy and really investigating and understanding the underlying causes of my chronic illness. My go to tactic when I make my mind up about something is to use practical practices to deliberately make changes to my body and mind.

Lora and Robert have been very generous in sharing their gifts with us and there continued collaboration with each person in this group shows they really love to help others.

My name is Lora Perry, founder of Perry Yoga and Spiritual Mind Coaching.
